    Last minute show, Holiday Hiatus
First off, let me get to the immediate:

This friday (dec. 16) we have added a show. we will be opening up for our good friends NAVAR at the Crowe Bar in Stamford. We go on at 10. For those of you who saw our boys NAVAR at the madison arts barn with us and DT, then you know just how amazing they are. Don't miss it! We'll be down there, drinking and having a great night. Come join us. This is our last show before January!

Having said that, we are taking a hiatus until the new year to gather some things together behind the scenes. We are on a booking frenzy and are looking forward to the new year. I want to say how much i have enjoyed this year..it was a year of new beginnings and a lot of excitement. We met a lot of new fans and played some great shows. Expect big things in '06.

January is filling up, so we can't wait to see you all. Please have a safe holiday season.

see you at the rock show

    Holy fucking shit.
wow...i have not touche this is so long i feel ashamed to be writing in it now. The trouble is between this and my own myspace page as well as the bands myspace page...i forget what i have updated. Too much blogging going on.

So we have had some amazing expereinces lately....we rocked out in manchester, NH at St. Anslem college and met some of the greatest people in the world. Including a mucho talented band called "tables up" (www.myspace.com/tablesup) We hope to get them down here soon so you can all enjoy them as much as we did. They got us drunk and housed us. Who could ask for more? We expect to be back up there next semester so look out..

We also gained a nice following in westport (an unlikely place i know) but we met amazing kids who are already very supportive. I felt like a rockstar signing everyone's shirts and cd's and posters. We've never been mobbed like that before.

Things are good..we have suffered a loss on the Release. team but i feel optimistic on the whole about it. There is a strong drive in us and it's coming out full blast. (if we can just get this website fully completed we will REALLY be in buisness.) We have some great shows coming up soon, the big one right now being out return to the legendary CBGB's. As many of you might know, the place was almost booted from it's home. I was very satisfied to have ever played there at all, but now we get to go back and i'm really looking forward to it.

Lots of new songs...many of which surprise me with how nicely they come together and are recieved. We hope to have some new recordings out for you soon.

I'll keep up on this damn thing i swear. In the meantime don't forget:

    Up or on the rocks
    thank you.

Everyone who came down and packed the place on friday really made this a special night. After a hiatus i feel we burst alive again on stage. The show was amazing. Thank you for your screams, your attention, and your love. Thank you to MAKEL for having us and helping us..and for playing such amazing music. It was a true experience.

This weekend we have two amazing shows to counter back with. Friday we return to jarods place in Mass, and then on saturday is the HUGE show! We rock the arts barn in madison with Doublethink, and the un imaginably amazing NAVAR! This show will be incredible..do not miss it. I promise a show you won't soon forget.

We are currently just a few cd's away from being totally sold out of the new E.P. This is good as it shows you are all loving the disc. HOwever it may be a few shows until they are replenished. We are ordering more so please be patient! And thank you for your support!

Check the tour page for new dates and our my space page as well!

New wesbite on November 1st...mark your calendars!

    SOOON
a lot has been happening here

We got a major article in New haven's "Play" magazine, which was a great thing for us. You can read it yourself at www.playnewhaven.com and click on "listen". Major thanks to Nick Scalia for the hookup.

Gregg is scoping out his honeymoon destination this weekend...when he returns it should only be a short matter of time before we finally see the launch of the new site. I apologize for the length in getting it up but being perfectionists we wanted a realy good looking page. And gregg has been coding it all by himself.

Ocotober is looking to be a very busy month so i hope to see all of you at the shows we have. The two biggest and greatest events this month are our show on the 14th with MAKEL, and incredible band we played with at Mohegan Sun. And then on the 22nd at the arts barn we play with local legends in their own right "Doublethink" and NAVAR!!!!!!!!!!!! i am so excited to play with navar again..these guys are currently on their first tour around the U.S. and we were lucky to snag them in. They recorded the Olean sessions for us when we played with them in march in upstate NY. This is a band that will blow you away. Their new album "touch of class" is going to be available and after hearing some of it...i am SO excited to get my own copy. This show will be out of control.

We have been added into the local show on 99.1 WPLR, which we are very excited. tune in this sunday to hear "December" off our latest e.p. at 10pm. We are also now being played up at marist college on their station and of course at WUNH (university of new haven). The radio support is beginning...its up to all of you now to call and bug them!

LAst but not least please continue to sign up for the street team...the more we build, the sooner we can start attacking the world...

I hope to see you all soon..

We recently broke into Northhampton, and are now being played on Marists college radio station thanks to our aewsome street team member Lauren!! The new website is on it's way FAST, and we are making some great contacts.

Some shows to look out for:

On oct 22 and 28 we rock out with doublethink..and whats really exciting is on the 22nd, our great pals NAVAR will be hopping on the bill at the arts barn, on a stop from their LONG tour!!! You will love this band...so i highyl reccomend seeing them!! They were the folks kind enough to record "the olean sessions".
On the 14th Our good friends MAKEL rock Up or on the rocks with us! We want to fill the place so please come down and get your drink on!

We are sending out a lot of cd's and press kits to east coast radio stations and clubs..we are dying to get this thing moving...if you wanna help..simply go to our myspace page and hop onto the STREET TEAM!

    Mohegan Sun, etc.
    Wow...

Well we played the Mohegan sun's battle of the bands and we won, moving us on to the semi finals. It was an incredible expereince playing in front of literally a couple thousand people. We played our hearts out and i'm very proud. We did have some stiff competition from a band of great guys called The dead man suits. Check 'em out.. We play again this coming wednesday...we start the show at 7:30.

We sold a lot of merch as well, and we are now trying to frantically replenish our stock. We will have more buttons and shirts for the next battle. ALSO...and this is the biggie...our first official release of our new E.P. that we have lovingly slaved over will be available for the first time on wednesday. Only 100 copies...so come and get it..

Mikey is heading off to europe with his family and girl. We wish them a safe journey.
Saturday night we are in Hamden at Eli's playing a special and very long acoustic set, with special guest guitarist Jim Sargent, formerly of my old band "Soundtrack for a Dream". Jimmy and i will also be playing our own show on the 13th at Jitters in southington..so if you long for the old days like we do, come on down. Ill get more info later..

Things are really heating up for us...stay tuned.. a lot of great shows are coming up, including some with our old friends Doublethink.

    "Chosen"
a word on the mp3 now up on our sounds page...

"Chosen" is one of those songs put together like sewing something. Nick came up with this great chord progression in an alternate tuning and key and played it for me a few times. I loved it..it's gorgeous. So i tinkered with it for a few days. What i wrote at first felt very formulaic and a little cheese ball to me so i scrapped it. However after a few days of humming the melody to myself i decided it might be worth it to just demo. This Mp3 is literally me just sitting in front of my MD recorder at my computer and getting a rough cut out..so excuse the looseness of it. It was only a few minutes after i decided on lyrics. I decided it may be worth emailing to everyone after i decided the content of the song..it didn't seem so corny after i thought about what it means to many people. "chosen" is something i wish i could say to not only myself years ago, but to a lot of people or anyone who is feeling rejected broken hearted and down. You have to get your heart broken a lot before you find the one who will never break it. I thought mostly about myself and my girl, and Gregg and his. When you meet the one who will keep your heart safe, you wish you could go back to when you damned the one who broke it and felt like it will never get better and say "no, trust me, this is shaping you to better fit the right one"

Maybe corny to some of you, but when you get there, and feel it...you'll know. Any feedback on the song is encouraged. Hell maybe you can tell us what to do with it sicne we are kinda stuck. Email us..let us know. I'll put up the lyrics at the end of this.

    k.

    "Chosen"
    Hold tight, watching in corners
you will live to breather again
I know the scars aren't fading
But we've all been through this before

And no direction seems to lead
to the places you would like to be
he was your everything, now it's nothing you can't hold down

Can it be that we are carefully chosen?
    pieces of sorrow were we
can it be that we are carefully chosen?
to break down the walls we can't see

    Lovers, keep your eyes high
this will come to be true
don't let the broken ones kill you
they were here to shape you

And this is safety, the place to be
where your heart can piece itself again
    stronger you grow without moving
and life will bring you something new

Can it be that we are carefully chosen?
    pieces of sorrow were we
can it be that we are carefully chosen?
to break down the walls we can't see

And i won't let you fall again
    you're safe in here tonight
when the world won't let you breathe
    i will set this right

    delayed update
i say this a lot but i am sorry for the lack of updates...sometimes this journal just escapes me.

first off.. a big (and delayed) thank you to all you people who sat in the blistering heat at east granby day to watch us. we had a great time, despite our attempt to keep hydrated and not on fire. I got burned pretty bad and spent a week or so peeling off my skin but it was worth it.

Monkey bar in danbury was a good time as well..even though i thought my Cab had blown two speakers..turns out i just missed a switch on my pedal board. i'm an ass.

Our show at Mohegan sun was pushed back as you might have seen on the front page. But this gives us more time to encourage you all to come down and support us! It will be a blast.

Lastly, i want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who voted for us in the Grand Band Slam. As we await the results, i remember just how great it was that any of you took the time to vote. it is sincerely appreciated.

    See you all very soon

    Barbarians!
    hello everyone

Monday we played the Living room in Providence. It was quite a time, indeed. If you want to see local music at it's most ludicrous, i encourage you to look up a band called the mystechs, from chicago. We played a great set..thanks to those of you who were there to hear it.

Yesterday day we played the monkey bar in danbury...it was not so memorable. My cab seems to have shit the bed, and had only two functioning speakers. This caused a serious problem with our sound as you can imagine. Add to that the fact that i have a cold in the middle of summer (fun) and you can practically feel the anxiety.

Tomorrow we play East Granby day in..you guessed it...east granby. See the tour page for info. We'd all like to welcome jim sargent, my friend and former SFAD guitarist, to the release. fold for the summer. He has signed on board to be our roadie/techie/go to guy! He's doing a damn good job too.

Well...enjoy the warmth..hit the pool. see you at the rock show

    rain rain go away
well, a huge thank you to everyone who saw us at Willimantic street fest. Espcially the large number of you who stayed and watched us as we played in the rain. As you can see in the photos, the sky managed to open up and dump it's wrath upon us, but if it hadnt gotten that bad we would have continued on for you all. We spent the rest of the evening in soaking clothes, drying off our equipment in mike's garage. It was an incredible night. Big thanks to Kevin, mikey's brother, for the help and soaking wet support.

Tomorrow we are at the living room in Providence. This is all ages, so if you feel like coming, check the tour page for details.

There are, indeed, many places for trolls to hide in NYC
    hello all..

Our trip up to manhattan was great, and the show at the Continental was aewsome as well. A major thank you to the entire Condon family and kelly who came out to see us. (our own personal, bring along crowd)The ride down was a blast and the ride back was even more fun. Mikey, sue and i were hardcore engaged in a game of figuring out what the letters in license plates stood for. Most of them are not appropriate to re-print. But believe me, it was a good time. I was happy to be home, as i spent the ride back wedging my ass onto what little piece of the backseat of the van i had. Never put three people on a van seat when two of them are over six feet tall. We are at a minor standstill for gigs and we beg your patience..a lot is coming, but in the process of being confirmed. It's shaping up to be a busy summer again.

Of course, a major congratulations to my stage right brother gregg, and his girl/band photographer/number one release fan Sue... They are now engaged! I have been a fortunate third party observer of the two since they first started and i cannot imagine a better pairing. I wish them a very happy future, and i'm sure it will be.

keep with us..we're busy getting together a great summer. And don't forget the looming shadow of our new E.P.

    What a weekend
    hello all

This weekend was a busy one. Eli's on thursday, Zen bar on Friday, and Osiris cafe on saturday. There's not too much to say, it was a rough string of shows. Our patience was tested at almost every corner. I think we all toughed through it very well with the exception of myself on Saturday night, where i lost my cool a bit. sometimes you just can't brush something off. HOwever there was silver lining here and there. We met some great people at zen bar, got to see "Mile marker zero" who is one hell of a tight band..and free drinks at zen bar was great. We def. took advantage of it and drank our faces off. It was pretty nice actually just sitting on the patio with the boys, blowing off steam and talking about music.

This saturday we hit the madison arts barn with local faves "look west". Should be a great show. check the tour page.

i may very well vent a lot more on my personal journal. feel free to wander over there and say hello. add me as a friend if you are a myspace junkie.

    FINALLY an update
    hello patient people

I am very sorry for the delay in this journal update. It's been so busy. I have just finished my run in "The who's Tommy" so i am back into the main focus of this band. Sorry for being so absent.

We had our show at the Webster with Flickerstick and it was amazing. Thanks to everyone who bought tickets and came out. A major thanks to the webster for the hookup, as we LOVE flickerstick. They were great and played an amazing show. Big thanks to our pals who manned our merch table.

A lot of preperation has been going into the new E.P. and this weekend we have our final studio session to mix, and master the beast, and put some strings down on "Follow". Tonight we all sat down with the Rough mix of it all and made notes on how we want this mixed. I'm very excited to get it done and share it with you all. It will be one hell of a cd.

A lot of new material is being written, and i am also eager to share it. You will def. hear some of it at the upcoming shows.

Speaking of which, keep checking the tour page, A LOT of new shows are being booked for the spring/summer. We will also be heading back to NYC very soon.

That's it for now kids. Keep with us. The website will be a little slow to update and some pieces may be missing (a la the message board) as we are preparing for a new site launch to coincide with the new E.P. We appreciate everyone's patience.

    see ya all soon
